Back-to-School 2023 Resources

Welcome back to school! We’ve made enhancements to your Benchmark Universe experience to set you up for success this school year.

Dashboard

New Dashboard Preview

  • Teachers and administrators will be able to continue using their current “Classic” dashboard or preview and use a “New” dashboard with actionable information as soon as you log in.
  • See the status of recently past due assignments or those with upcoming due dates.
  • Get notified of Assessments that need grading and go directly to grading.
  • See standards performance right on your dashboard.
  • Set your favorite resources to appear.

Resource Library

Manage Filters

  • Teachers who have students rostered to their class can use the Manage Students’ Library page to limit which content individual students or classes can and cannot see.
  • They can also set the default Resource Library of their students and classes.
  • In addition, Benchmark Universe now offers teachers and administrators the option of setting which Resource Library filters they see whenever they open the Resource Library.

Reports

Instructional Recommendations

  • Teachers and administrators are able to access instructional resources in reports to reteach and reassess students.
  • Instructional recommendations are available for Grades 3–6 in all editions of Benchmark Advance, beginning with ©2021, and Benchmark Adelante ©2022.

Manage Recurring Downloads

  • In case you missed the announcement earlier in the year, you can create a recurring download schedule for your favorite eAssessment and Oral Reading Record files.

New Layout for File Downloads

  • It’s easier to manage the downloads files you have requested, as well as the recurring files.

eAssessments

Print Test Results

  • Allows users to print the assessment results by test for individual students or batch print for all students in the class.

Audio Recording

  • For certain speaking assessments, students will be able to record themselves speaking the answer to questions while taking a test. Prior to the test, the student will take a microphone test to ensure their microphone is set up properly. The teacher can then play back the student’s answer to each question and grade their response appropriately.

Custom eAssessments

  • As a reminder for the districts that have customized eAssessments by deleting one or more questions, you can retain your custom tests or add question(s) back to the test for the latest Benchmark Education test version. Please contact Tech Support for assistance.
  • Learn more about eAssessments: Delete a Question FAQ and Best Practices here.

Foundational Skills Assessments

Class History View

  • The Class History view allows teachers and administrators to see students’ most recent scores on all the subtests within a test, all in one place.

Automaticity Response Type

  • We’ve added an additional response type, “Automaticity,” to allow teachers and administrators to evaluate whether a question was “Automatic” or “Not Automatic,” in addition to evaluating whether the student response was correct.

Administrator Assigning

  • District and school administrators can access and administer FSA subtests to students.

Available for users of Benchmark Phonics and Benchmark Phonics Intervention or as an additional purchase.

Assignments

Assignment Transfer Tool

  • School and district administrators have access to an Assignment Transfer Tool, which gives them the ability to transfer assignments to the teacher's preferred class for students that are rostered to more than one class. Learn more about the Assignment Transfer Tool here.
